Wolfgang H Scholz met Roland Ehrhardt many years ago while working on his lithographs and on the occasion of his 100th birthday. A portrait of his printer at work was taken on the birthday of the famous painter Otto Dix. In the process, he has rediscovered long-forgotten film and photo archive footage from the joint work between Dix and Ehrhardt from 1949 to 1969.
A portrait of him and his work in his workshop in the Künstlerhaus Dresden Loschwitz, where he prints for artists such as Max Uhlig, Rainer Zille and Veit Hoffmann.
Strength, tact, artistic sensitivity and empathy for the artist's intention are unabadable prerequisites for a top printer. Ehrhardt proudly shows the signed prints of his Dix Lithos gifts to the printer. One bears the dedication "To the best printer in Germany".
